New rumours about Apple’s next iPhone 13 and this time about charging: it will be reverse wireless and ultra-fast. We continue to talk about the new iPhone 13 that Apple could launch by the end of 2021, and this time, the latest rumour concerns the charging system. Apple’s next smartphone could be equipped with reverse and ultra-fast wireless charging.
The upcoming iPhone 13 will feature a larger internal coil, which will ensure ultra-fast wireless charging, coupled with stronger MagSafe magnets. As September approaches, the date the new smartphone could be presented, the rumours continue to increase. We will find an LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz on the Pro models. There will also be a 5G modem and more powerful cameras for professional shots.
IPhone 13 Will Have Ultra-Fast Charging
In recent weeks, there have been many leaks on the features of Apple’s next iPhone 13, and rumours continue to increase. The new models will be equipped with a larger wireless charging coil to ensure better heat management and more power. The new coil design will serve to harness the increased power of a new range of magnets for Apple’s MagSafe charging technology. The video also suggests that charging will be ultra-fast and reverse wireless as well. iPhones will charge other devices that support Qi technology, such as AirPods, with the new reverse wireless function, simply by bringing them closer to the back case.
IPhone 13: What We Know So Far
The information circulating about the next iPhone is different, starting with the name. There is a belief that given the superstition in the United States on the number 13, the new iPhone that should arrive by the end of September could be called iPhone 2021, but there are no confirmations. As for the screen, there is an important novelty for the Pro and Pro Max models: they will be equipped with an LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
On the other hand, the two standard-sized models will be equipped with LiDAR sensors. As for the cameras, however, they will be optimised and arrive with a different configuration: from vertical to diagonal. All models will support 5G connectivity, but the return of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor required by many Apple fans seems to be excluded. For that, 2022 will probably be needed with the next iPhone 14.
Ultimately IPhone 12 Has Reverse Wireless Charging
It is not the first time we have talked about reverse wireless charging on the iPhone or the technology that allows you to use the wireless charging system even “in reverse”, allowing the iPhone to charge other accessories, such as an Apple Watch or AirPods. There was talk of it for the future iPhone 13 and a possible MagSafe battery pack on the way. Yesterday, Apple’s magnetic power bank was officially launched, and some very interesting details emerge from the FAQ page on the Apple website.
If both your iPhone and MagSafe Battery Pack need to be charged, you can charge them at the same time. Attach your MagSafe Battery Pack to your iPhone and then plug the MagSafe Battery Pack into a power adapter. Using a 20W or higher power adapter, the MagSafe Battery Pack can charge your iPhone with up to 15W of charging power. You can also charge both if you attach your MagSafe Battery Pack to your iPhone, then plug your iPhone into a power source. You might want to charge this way if you need to connect your iPhone to another device while charging, like if you’re using wired CarPlay or transferring photos to a Mac.
It explains how you can charge both the iPhone and the Battery Pack by connecting the Lightning cable to a power supply of at least 20W and then to the power bank from the other end. But the second paragraph also explains how you can do the opposite, in case you need to connect the iPhone to other devices via cable (for example, to the car for CarPlay or to the Mac to transfer photos). You can then connect the iPhone via cable to a power source and connect the MagSafe Battery Pack on the back, and they will both charge (to be precise, the iPhone up to 80% and then both).
This, therefore, makes it obvious the presence of a reverse wireless charging system also in all the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, even if at the moment it seems that it can only be used for the MagSafe Battery Pack. If we had to guess, we could imagine MagSafe cases for AirPods and a MagSafe base for Apple Watch in the future so that we can take advantage of the greatest benefit of this technology: the certainty of charging the product, given the correct, safe positioning.
