4. When you see the factory reset button has turned blue, stop pressing the reset button. The blue light starts blinking.
5. When the blinking blue light has turned into solid blue, it indicates the factory reset process is completed. The device is ready to use.
6. The whole process might take 10 to 15 minutes.

Factory Reset Google Wifi when you have old firmware

If the above method hasn’t worked for you even after completing all the above steps, it might be due to the old firmware. So, if you have old firmware, follow the below steps.

1. Disconnect the power by unplugging your device.
2. You will find the factory reset button at the back of the device.
3. Please press the button and hold on to it for a few seconds.
4. Plug the cord back into the power socket.
5. Give a long press of the button until the white colour turns blue.
6. The blue light blinks for around 45 seconds, and then the blue light turns solid blue.
7. The solid blue light indicates the device has completed resetting and is ready to set up.
8. The whole reset process takes around 10 to 15 minutes.

Even though you have reset the Google Wi-Fi, your data is safe on the home app for up to 6 months.

Reset Google Wifi on the Google Home app

Before performing a factory reset, remember that factory resetting the home app erases all your stored data, and you cannot recover it. The whole data on the cloud services and the settings get wiped away.

This method should have a Google Home app on your device. Google has replaced the Google Wifi app with the Google Home app. So, if you don’t have one, download it on your smartphone.

1. First, open the Google Home app on your smartphone.
2. Click on the Wifi icon.

4. Now tap on Factory reset Network.
5. Then press the button ‘ok’ for the reset to start.
